Abandoned Cart Recovery

Abandoned Cart Recovery

Stop losing revenue from abandoned shopping carts. iSquared automatically detects when customers leave items behind and sends them persuasive, AI-generated recovery emails.

How It Works

The system runs on autopilot using the following workflow:

1. Activity Tracking

  • Monitors when logged-in customers add items to their cart
  • Tracks the last time they interacted with their cart
  • Automatically clears tracking data when a purchase is completed

2. Abandonment Detection

  • Every hour, the system scans for carts that have been inactive for 1-24 hours
  • Filters out customers who have already received a recovery email
  • Processes abandoned carts in small batches to prevent system overload

3. AI Email Generation

The Hub's AI Email Engine creates personalized recovery emails that include:

  • Compelling subject lines (e.g., "Did you forget something?")
  • Product names from the abandoned cart (up to 3 items)
  • Direct checkout link to complete the purchase
  • Persuasive copy highlighting scarcity or benefits

4. Automatic Delivery

  • Email is sent directly to the customer's registered email address
  • System marks the cart as "recovery sent" to prevent duplicate emails
  • Tracking data is cleared after email is sent

Best Practices

For Maximum Effectiveness:

  1. Encourage account creation during checkout to track more carts
  2. Test your email deliverability to ensure recovery emails don't land in spam
  3. Monitor conversion rates to see how many abandoned carts convert to sales
  4. Combine with time-limited offers in your recovery emails for urgency

Common Use Cases:

  • High-ticket items: Customers who need time to think often abandon expensive products
  • Multiple items: Shoppers comparing options across multiple tabs
  • Distracted buyers: People interrupted during checkout process

Limitations

[!WARNING] Only works for logged-in customers. Guest checkouts cannot be tracked for cart recovery.

Not Covered:

  • Guest users: Anonymous shoppers are not tracked (privacy requirement)
  • Already purchased: Customers who completed checkout won't receive emails
  • Manual sending: All emails are automated; no manual trigger available

Troubleshooting

Recovery emails not sending?

Check these items:

  1. Verify WooCommerce is active and up-to-date
  2. Confirm your Hub license includes Email AI features
  3. Test your site's email functionality (Settings → Tools → Email Test)
  4. Check that wp-cron is running properly

Too many or too few emails?

The system limits to one email per cart per 24-hour window. If you need to adjust the timing:

  • Contact support to modify the 1-hour minimum delay
  • Consider implementing coupon codes for additional incentive

[!TIP] Boost Recovery Rates: Combine cart recovery with your Reputation Management system to build trust. Happy customers are more likely to complete abandoned purchases when reminded!
